Personality: When most people evaluate Pam in a work situation the first word that comes to mind when describing her would efficient. Pam likes to keep her work environment streamlined and free of distracting clutter. it wouldn't be unusual to find her clearing away things from the break room or keeping the chip exchange window explicitly organized. A stray paper could lead to a distraction which could lead to a mistake which could lead to a huge pain in the ass. Pam's moto when it comes to work is prevention should be the main concern then intervention. When it comes time for the interventions be something as simple as constant trainings for her dealers to keep standards high or when new equipment hits the floor. Many of these trainings center around different cons people my try or simply way to keep carpel tunnel from becoming a pain. When it comes to dealing with Patrons Pam is a pro. It's great being in a man's world and being a pretty girl willing to meet their needs... within reason. Sometimes a little flirting the smooth over a situation far better than a free dinner. Luckily her charms have yet to dry up making dealing with the public more difficult than necessary.
Outside of work Pam loves to let her hair down and breath. Walking trails and lounging outside int he good weather are some of her favorite past times. In general she is more likely to spend her evening catching a film or attending a class of some kind than working the bars. Though newly single it has become clear that if she wants to stave off loneliness then a few trips to the bar may be necessary. It's hard to get back on the dating horse after 7 years without riding.
History: Enterprise NV, was like most suburbs of Vegas. All the houses looked the same, no grass in the 'lawn' and the constant hum of air conditioners. Her Dad worked in 'the industry' the industry the fueled everyone around them, the garbage trucks, the banks, even the doughnut shops and hog farms were all connected to the industry. Despite being raised in sin city her childhood along with her older brothers was relatively normal. They played in the dirt of the yard, went to school an accelerated in certain areas. For Andy it was the ROTC motivating him to keep his grades high. For Pam it was track that kept her motivated. Her coach required a B average year round and she worked to maintain and actually exceed keeping her in the top 20 at graduation.
College was just a reason to continue running to Pam. She attended Southern Utah University majoring in Hotel, Resort and Hospitality Management. In the summers and on big school breaks she was home in Vegas working as a dealer. She liked the hosting aspect of it. She always seemed to have a good table full of interesting people. it was working at the Venetian that she met Ryan.
Ryan Malot. Ryan was a cool guy and the pair circled around one another flirting for the better part of the summer. The relationship continued though Pam was away at university. Junior year put an end to Pam competitive running. An Achilles heel injury took her out completely. She had the surgery to speed her recovery but even with serious training she never reached the same level of success. Through her recovery Ryan supported her traveling to SUU to visit her when he could. When Pam graduated she returned to Vegas and her job as a dealer. Within the year she and Ryan moved in together. It was 2006 when Pam finally was made a Pitt Boss. It was the job she had been longing for as a shift supervisor she dealt more with the public than the cards and chips but as Pitt Boss she had the opportunity to make sure her dealers were the best. Her crew became known as the best and quickly they all all rose in the ranks being put at hot high buy tables and being requested by high rollers.
Everything was going great and as her 30th birthday approached Pam could sense a nervousness in Ryan. She could tell he was nervous about something and was expecting a proposal. They had been together for nearly 10 years and had discussed their mutual desires for a family in the past. Needless to say it was a shock when he said he would be moving out that he was no monger happy and was moving in with her Brother rather than staying with her. He said she had become cold over the last few years focusing to much on her work and not enough on their relationship. It was completely devastating for Pam.
Instead of letting it get to her Pam set out to make a change. She needed out of Vegas a town that had defined her for far to long. She had been head hunted by several other gaming companies in Vegas and Atlantic City. What she wanted was the space SUU had given her. She needed the clean air again and the ability to walk trails and see natural beauty daily. She applied at Rico Hot Springs Resort and as they would say the rest was history. She put in and worked out her two week notice and packed up. Thankfully it wasn't hard to sublet her apartment with so many looking to move from their now over inflated homes to apartments. Rico was going to be a big life change. As the world was when you were 30, single and only a job to define you. The world was brand new for Pam and she was planning to take advantage of that.
Five desires and fears:
- Fears monkeys and apes. It's something about their fingers and ability to plan.
- Desires to have a family sooner rather than later.
- Fears bugs that 'scuttle' like they have multiple sets of legs.
- Desires stability and emotional support.
- Fears re injuring her heel again. It was a painful recovery she would rather not have to relive.
Five Random Facts:
- Coloring helps her think through a problem. She keeps a coloring book on hand in her room for this.
- Although she still doesn't flat out run she enjoys jogging and walking.
- Her scent of choice is Burberry Brit.
- Love the shows Deadliest Catch and Dirty Jobs for reasons she does not understand.
- Has been known to indulge in retail therapy... which is how she got her new car just before arriving in Rico.
One Secret: Pam is extremely afraid to start over at Rico. her entire world has been shaken and she doesn't know what to do with herself at all. She's not sure if she'll ever gain all of her confidence back.
